Product Release 16th December 2021

What’s new in Causeway one.network version e2.12.0?

Overview

Another month, another one.network update. On Thursday the 16th of December (2021), we released one.network version e2.12.0. Read on to hear about all the changes implemented.

This release included a major upgrade to one.network. The platform is now even more deeply integrated with the Department for Transport’s Street Manager, allowing users to start and stop Street Manager works directly within one.network, saving users huge amounts of time.

Now, let’s take a closer look at the other changes in this update:

The map

As well as the Street Manager integration mentioned above, we’ve also made some other changes to the one.network map. These include:

  • An updated colour scheme for the Lane Rental Scheme network bands to ensure they match official categorisation.
  • A new toggle filter so users can view NSG Special Designations separately to the complete NSG data on the map.

Traffic Management

Our market-leading Traffic Management module gives users the power to manage, plan and communicate road disruptions from a single dashboard.

In this update, we’ve introduced the ability to plot diversion routes outside of your organisation’s region. This means highway authority users can now plot diversions on the map which cross authority boundaries. We hope this helps make diversion planning simpler!

Some users of our Traffic Management module also subscribe to our Plan Share module — a tool which allows third parties, such as utilities and contractors, to submit traffic management applications and TTROs (Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders) to highway authorities within the one.network platform. Highway Authorities can then approve or reject these plans and communicate with the works promoter about necessary changes via the chat functionality.

This month, we’ve improved the display of plan submissions in our Plan Share module so that it’s easier to keep track of which applications have been submitted, accepted and rejected.

Route Manager

Route Manager — our module for the creation and management of bus routes and key route networks — received some important changes in this update.

  • The added ability to create diversion routes where there are overlapping segments, so users can plot more diversions on the map for even the most complex routes.
  • Bus stops can now be managed independently of bus routes.
  • The ‘modified’ status symbol (a yellow triangle) which appears when a route or bus stop has been changed, previously only displayed when the change was active and in effect. Now, this symbol will display for changes that are planned for the future also.

Reports

Our Reports module — for the interrogation and extraction of data from one.network — will now allow users to download reports without a works promoter or local authority filter applied. This will give users more freedom when generating reports, allowing for reports based purely on geographical area.
